Bump on this post as no recent entries (everybody hibernating?)
Nice run out today 50 miles, sunny with DRY roads, after almost 8 years of ownership with mechanicals being regularly maintained at JMG.
About time the bodywork was given a Major re-spruce to bring back that Guards Red sparkle (+ latest Clear Coat to hopefully keep it show room fresh).
Full respray + underbody treatment and wheels sprayed (also clear coat), should now be easier to keep clean.
A few Photos for good measure, now about that agreed value with Insurance company!

I have to say that the floorpans are the worst possible place to support or jack the front of your car  although it was recommended by Porsche ,these cars are now 25+ years old!

There are records of problems with sticky/ non return throttle pedals due to floorpan distortion

Much safer to support all that weight on the front wishbones or cross member

Rebuilt my rear wiper motor with bits from another I bought from eBay. Much quieter and doesn't get stuck halfway across its sweep.

I also fixed the annoying metallic rattle that resonated at idle since fixing the wiper motor - I thought I hadn't tightened something up properly in the internals, but it turned out to be the spring in the wiper arm rattling against the arm itself.

Loaded my mountain bike and gear in the back and took her to Llandegla Forest for a ride out yesterday. Cracking day out on the bikes taken there and back in a proper versatile and usable Porsche!! Very happy if a little sore today..... :D

Hotblack944 - they look like good replacements - just ordered a set.

Thanks for the link.

Isn't it weird to think that all that electronickery could be replaced with one tiny little chip these days ....

I may have a spare in the garage if you need a replacement? I'll check tomorrow and you can let me know.

Bought a very large mirror 40"x52" and pondered how to get home from Ashtead in Surry to home here near just north of Portsmouth although we have 6 various vehicles including a hatchback only the 944 could fit it in 8)

As my wife is just shorter than 5 ft tall she had to drive while I sat hunched like Quasimodo in the passenger seat for the 50 mile trip back.

Wonderful cars these Porsches.

Took my car to Pistonheads Sunday Service yesterday at Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster to see the Avro Vulcan.... XH558 - the last airworthy flying Vulcan in the world.

Got talking to Martin Withers the Vulcan pilot of #607 that undertook the bombing raid of the runway at Port Stanley in the Falklands - what an absolute gent!!

Got talking cars and he spotted my '68 in the car park and said it was one of the only ones that stopped him in his tracks and brought back memories.... well chuffed!!
