Update....heater switch fault fixed. If you have no fan speeds at all but the defrost works, checks these. C2 is the power supply on the back of the switch pack. In each position you should have continuity through from C2 to the other terminals. If you have none, then remove the switch by spliting the unit in two. Watch out as the switch has two small ball bearings and two small springs. The inside of the switch has a copper face This is sprung loaded and the spring gets squashed over time stopping it making contact with the rest of the unit. Pick out carefully the copper front, stretch the spring and re-assemble. Continuity should be restored and the switch fixed. Put some masking tape around the switch to hold the balls and springs inplace, push the switch into its housing and then drag the tape out thus leaving the balls and springs in place!! This may have been a one off for me but it might help others who have the same fault.
