I stopped by my local OPC today to see if they stocked a 944 fog lamp lense to replace the one that someone kindly smashed the other day.

If you'd seen the guys face you’d have thought I'd asked him for a dinosaur bone

After a bit of coaxing they did look it up however ...... delivered in two days!

Yup we regularly get 2 day delivery on 944 stuff from OPC Tonbridge & we get 10% as TiPEC members as well

The OPC in Sheffield are great. Very helpful bunch of chaps. Unlike the Mercedes dealers next door who wont even look for parts unless you have your VIN. I stood in there for 15 mins the other year ringing the bell, finally a chap appeared and barked "we are having our dinner!!!!" Charming i thought!! So i got him to look up some very obscure parts for half an hour then said, 'tell you what mate, il get them from the Chesterfield branch as they are much more helpful there

Stopped in today to pick up the fog lamp, but unfortunately it was the wrong one, being a small square unit rather than the larger combined spot / fog lamp that i need.

We managed to identify the correct part, but you can't buy the lens on its own, so I would have had to buy the whole unit which was £280'00's.

Luckily I checked porscheshop later, and found they do sell the lens on its own for £98.00, so I went with that option, but I'm hoping I might actually be able to get one from Douglas Valley in the interim.
