my 944 is turning into a bit of a nightmare
first i found oil in the water so off came the head, gasket ok but with all the pits on it i thought it better to have a new head £100 plus £70 for a skim and crack test.
then got an oil cooler cause mine had more oil in it than the middle east, new seal kit £35.
checked the brakes discs and pads, pads new rear discs new but the others past there best so got some new ones £32.
tried to take the pins out to put new pads and discs on................rusted solid
so looks like new calipers.
can some one please tell me what to expect next  but do it gently.
moan over Dave
p.s. and i aint even started to think about the bit of bodywork yet

It's all part of lifes rich tapestry. If you paid less than 4K for your '44 then you have to expect a few teething problems! Doesn't sound too bad to me. :) (Have a spare pair of rear calipers refurbed if yours are leaking.)

Yup the first 6-9 months are Bl00dy scary finding out what it's all like, I expected a big bill for the belts but the engine mounts were expensive as they took so much labour.

all i will say is...... i will look after whoevers car and keep costs to a minimum. yes i'm trying to earn a living but if i spend 8 hours on a car i charge 6, if the hours go over 24 hours i'll drop the hourly rate. if its a simple job of a hour that can be done at the owners home then cover the fuel and make me a coffee ;). i can't be any fairer than that and i think i'm 8 quid cheaper than a small garage per hour. my love is for the job but i still have bills to pay....who ever bill is?
