Hello All,

New member posting from the Fylde Coast for the first time and new to Porsche and still learning about them. I have had Morgans (still have one) for a number of years but a Porsche has been on the list for a long time and now after a fairly long search I have a (IMO) nice 1989 911 Carrera SE Coupe in the garage.
I will no doubt be posting some questions in the future, so all help will be gratefully appreciated. Not sure how to post a picture yet being of the slate and chalk era.

One question I do have is, I have been pointed in the direction of Unit 11 in Warrington for work I cant do or not inclined to do myself. I have also seen reference to Ninemeister in the same area. Has anyone used one or both and have any particular preference?

Yours in anticipation,

John

Hi John,
I've used Unit 11 for a number of years now for similar purposes to yourself, with them most recently fitting a new clutch to my 944 which I didn't fancy doing. Both Johnny and Danny appear happy to work on mine and the more exotic Porsche models with the same enthusiasm. And, they always take time to chat and give advise.

However, I've no personal experience of Ninemeister but I did attend an open day which they held last month for the opening of there new workshop which was impressive and well set-up, I do know a few of the Northwest Region members do use them.

So, from experience I use Unit 11, primarily as I have no reason not to, they have always given me a good service that I'm more than happy with. I have also previously recommended them to others whom have reported back similar experiences to mine.

Hope this helps?

Thanks Tony, much obliged. I'll pop down and have a look at both companies.

Unit 11 certainly gets a good press on the IB website.

Regards,
John

Other local specialists are available. In no particular order: Jasmine near Colne, Hartech in Bolton, Cath Burrows in Wigan. Plus the guys at Porsche Centre Bolton are always worth talking to, especially for friendly parts prices.
