In 2015 I am entering the Scumball3000 again (now called, rather lamely, Scumrun) for the 10th anniversary event. We intend to enter the 1985 Porsche 944 which I originally bought for the first proper Scumball3000 in 2007.

Because the car performed so well and I was so impressed with it, I decided to keep it when we returned and I ran it for a year as a road car. I then started to 'develop' it into a track focussed car and it ended up with a rollcage, race seats, silly wheels, sillier still tyres (235/35/17 SportMaxx all round), plastic windows and no sound deadening. A lot of the tricker parts have been removed from the car during its lay-up and it is now in a rather sorry looking state.

Thanks to the AA it is going to need a new starter and it will also require an original type compressed fibre front bumper, lamps and PU after they dragged it onto an unsuitable transporter; along with front and rear cabin carpets and a pair of reasonable series two type door seals (James and I both suffered quite badly from carbon monoxide poisoning on the Dijon - Calais- Dover - Derby return leg and James ended up in an oxygen tent! Im made of sterner stuff and made do with two aspirin and a day in bed, but Id like to avoid it happening again).

There are a few other items that we will need too and I am hoping to bum them, or buy them cheap. We will be raising money for charity and obviously covering all of the other costs ourselves. I suspect that theres going to be too much for me to pay for in the time available though, hence my feeble begging post...

If anyone can help to make the car roadworthy and road-bearable then it will be greatly appreciated.

Damn, you should have told me a month ago! I gave a load of spares away with my 951! Surely EMC can help you out to some extent (I got the impression that Kevin and you had some history).

OTOH should I by some luck manage to stumble across some Series 1 spares you shall be kept posted :).

Thanks Chas. Kevin doesn't have anything left, although I did bum a jack off Alex when I was there (and bought a GRP bonnet too).

i have a couple of front bumpers, you can have one.

the co2 poisoning is prob tailgate seal not door seals. my turbo did the same thing until i replaced it.

Thank you. It was the tailgate yes, but the door seals make it worse, like opening a window does. Door seals don't have much, if any, value though and a good tailgate seal is always worth good money, hence my only asking for door seals.

I may have a bumper lined up, but they didn't get the PU back from the garage when a revised front was fitted - I don't suppose that you have a PU do you? If not, and if I may, I could use the bumper to swap with someone?
