Hi Nick, I think the racks are much the same apart from the ratios, the turbo being 3.8 turns lock to lock and I think the standard rack is 4.2 turns lock to lock (not 100% sure as cant find info just now and the Haynes manual ,as usual, is rubbish).

Matt

From Porsche tech spec document

924 ratio in the middle = 19.15:1
turbo ratio in the middle = 22.39:1

Both have a lock to lock of 4.02 turns

There is forum folklore that the RHD racks are based on upside down LHD Golf racks and vice versa. Not seen or been dis proven but I belive someone tried to fit a golf quick rack internals into a 924 rack

I removed my rack the other day when I rebuilt my front suspension. Lock to lock it was 3.6/7 turns. Mine is a standard 2.0l 924
