Hi,

Does anyone have a spare Front Pan Fibre board for 1989 S4, even if it is a bit tired as mine is missing.

This is the front undertray under the front of the engine

cheers
Neil

Hi :)

Not sure why you say "fibre" as they are made of metal....

If you get no luck elsewhere, Paul Anderson sells them....

All the best Brett :)

I am unsure but seems there are two trays

Front and rear, the front being fibre and rear being metal

The front is missing on mine, I have the rear metal tray but not the front one

Have you tried the Porsche dealer?

I bought mine from there, and if l remember it was not expensive.
Some parts were very reasonably priced, while others were a fortune. But it's always worth a try, to see how much it is from Porsche.

I need a front under tray too. I also need to fix the rear one. Does anyone have the nixsoft one installed?

And does it really need the ducts?

You can download a pdf of the parts catalogue (free!) from Porsche here. Then once you've got the part number go here and type it (without spaces) into the Materialnummer box and hit Suchen to get the official price in Euros - convert that to pounds and you will get some idea of how much Porsche UK will charge you (although bear in mind that if you're a club member or buying a lot of parts you can usually negotiate a discount).

I have had one installed without ducts (since my car came with no undertrays) for several years without any noticeable problems; having heard it scrape bumps in the road several times, I consider the protection it gives to be worth the potential disadvantages from not having the ducts.

The ducts are probably there to channel cool air into the engine bay. I am also told that the undertrays create downforce at speed.

Personally l would prefer to have them, as they were put there for a reason.
The 928 is a very complex vehicle.
Having said that, it's clear that deleting the ducts is not going to cause catastrophic failure.
