Hi,

My 1989 S4 speakers a completely shot and I have found this website which does repairs, one in USA and one in Holland.

Has anyone tried this please, I would prefer new, modern replacement but the sizes, shapes are not standard.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Blaupunkt-P ... 460cfb95c3

http://www.audiofriends.nl/foam-surrounds/

http://www.audiofriends.nl/pdf/refoaming.pdf

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Audiofriends/_ ... =118601870

Or can anyone help me buy and fit new speakers that fit in the same holes as before

I have a Becker Indianapolis Pro Head unit driving this, no idea if I have an amp, not traced all the wiring yet which is a massive mess of wires, typical after all these years.

many thanks

Neil

Hi :)

I had all of my speakers changed a few years ago for modern ones, although the audio fitter winced a bit when he saw the sizes, he managed to match them for modern ones, ordered them in and all work fine....a lot better than the originals with blown cones lol....

So any decent audio fitter (not a garage) will be able to do it...

All the best Brett :)

a bit different to my old S2 ones

As Brett says, take it to an audio fitter (Car sounds and security in Epsom are good)
Tell him you found them online but weren't sure which ones to order.
(different prices on the website compared to shop)

I buy all my gear there

I had the same issue with my 928 S4 door speakers.

I eventually fitted some from the late model 928, which had a plastic cone and so had not fallen apart.
However there are modern speakers that will fit.

It was a few years ago now.
But l went online and bought speakers for the late model 928 S4/GT, and these had a plastic type cone.
