Re: What did you do to your watercooled 911 today?
Hopefully most problems may be solved
Got the "Peppermint Peril" back today after it's week long mechanical sabbatical
New drop links, new anti roll bar rubbers, new track rod ends, new steering rack, stripped and cleaned power steering pump, bloody expensive porsche recommended PS fluid, full geometry re set.
Then had a sod it moment
tyres deflated re sealed and gas filled, air con recharge, bill was bit more than I thought but hey hoo
So had to go for a test drive, what a difference, no knocks, no rattles, no squeaks much more stable (I would imagine!!!) at speed, drives and stops in a straight line oh yeah and the air con now is bloody cold so methinks mrs 6853 may demand a blanket
Fingers crossed for MOT in the next coupla weeks.
First weekend job is clean it to get rid of greasy paw marks, then drive it drive it drive it, roll on the weekend

Re: What did you do to your watercooled 911 today?
Passed the MoT last week (well, apart from needing the headlights adjusted
), so as a treat, I kitted her out with new rear pads and discs today.
Next week it's a new water pump, new air-con condenser and re-gas (all under warranty

Re: What did you do to your watercooled 911 today?
Had a great experience in Porsche Exeter today, I rang up as I was driving past and asked if they could disconnect the sim access profile on the PCM phone (to turn it back to normal bluetooth) they said it would cost £45.
I called straight in and while I was waiting I had a good look round the new Taga (I want one). The workshop manager handed back my keys and an invoice .......No Charge wow that makes a change
thats customer service especially as the car had never been looked after by them.
Happy Days

Re: What did you do to your watercooled 911 today?
Not today, a couple of weeks ago for the Porsche in the Glen show. I took the old Alcons off and put GT3 350mm discs back on.

I used one of Edd Chinas tricks, hanging the caliper up using a wire coat hanger.

New disc on.

Just so you know, I done both sides.

I did the slowest ever lap of Brands Hatch - slow enough to 'safely' take photos out of the side window on Paddock Hill bend!

I'm guessing that's not a print of a real advertisement. I've only seen a 964 as the featured car. Good though, where'd she get it from?BullyB wrote:Didn't do anything to the car but I did hand the picture my wife made for me
