Good evening. I'm a newbie to your organisation. To date I've had 3 air cooled 911 cars - 3.0SC, 3.2 Carerra, 964. 4 days ago I bought a 2006 997 C4S in seal grey. I think I'm in love. I'm so pleased I bought it. I can't get the smile off my face. I'd worried about things like bore scoring and RMS issues but as everyone sensible has said most engines are fine. I had Peter Morgan do an inspection and RSJ who I bought it off dealt with the issues he picked up. It is such a beautiful car - especially from the rear. It drives like its on rails. Still getting used to the gear box - it's got a short shifter. As they say it is a bit notchy but I'm getting better. I love the communication with the road. You've got to concentrate all the time. Thank you Rachel - my wife - for letting me buy it.

Congrats. Enjoy the car. Seal Grey is a good colour - our old 986s was Seal. So much nicer than Arctic Silver.

Last night I picked up my shiny new 997 GTS drove it home from Tring to Surrey and... HO-LY FIDDLE STICKS BATMAN the car is a raging beast! The combination of the upgraded DFI engine and PDK made my last car a gen 1 c2s feel like a Prius when I put my foot down. The thing nearly took my face off on the launch control. I urge everyone who hasn't to have a go in a PDK pork, I fully appreciate it removes some of the connection with the car but at the same time to be able to shift at the blink of an eye at high speed (always road legal speed of course) is just something else. The paddles take a bit of getting used to I inadvertantly changed gear a couple times going around roundabout, and once or twice my left hand went searching for the gear stick to change gear. Its GT silver which is my favourite colour. Simply put I am in love. I can't wait to show it off at the Simply Porsche show next month. 8) :D
