LOOKING FOR OUTDOOR CAR COVER

Post by gilliambot »

Hello team,

So I have just bought a 997 2S with a sunroof, but my car is parked on my drive which is on a slope, and I have heard the sunroof drains get blocked with heavy rain when the car is parked at an angle. So I thought the best move would be to get a cover for the british rainy season. Does anyone have any experience with covers? I was thinking of getting a half cover just to go over the roof of the car. Also… everywhere says the car needs to be clean before putting on a cover, does this mean actually just washed clean, or does this mean just not obviously dirty.

cheers in advance.

I gave up with my outdoor cover when I noticed a couple of scuffs caused by it on the front wing. Polished out, luckily. The car has to be completely clean (washed) before putting on the cover. Imagine little bits of grit being rubbed backwards and forwards by the cover for hours on end when it's windy. You also need to get a breathable one, or condensation will build up, which can't be a good thing. I ended up thinking it wasn't really worth the hassle.
