We acquired Chalkie ('85 944 lux auto) strictly by accident by way of a debt repayment from a "friend" at Whitsun, when poor Chalkie was engine out, having a new damper (torque tube?) fitted. Our friend finally paid off the garage and Chalkie arrived a couple a days ago with 108000 on the clock, (and old MOT's to kind of prove it), with a full MOT, minus the original cassette player, with a non working temp gauge, a constantly on brake pad warning light, a heated rearscreen switch which stops the indicators working, a Clifford alarm system that seems to flatten the battery within 4 days and a damaged interior where our pal had tried to repair the sunroof with a 9" screwdriver which he kindly left in the back of the car. So we love her already!!

Unlike us, Chalkie's bodywork seems to have survived the years rather well and looks fab from a distance.

Having sold John's beloved old Jag XJ40 we're going to attempt a rolling restoration, so 1st stop auto electricians as most faults seem to lie in the tangled web of wiring hanging below the cracked dash.

One last thing, please forgive us our future stupid questions as we will forgive any replies which assume we may have the slightest clue of what we are doing!

We knew they were not originals and thought they were off an old 911, if they're really fuchs we may have recouped some of our losses already :D

We're near chichester about as far south as you can get with dry feet.

I'll try and post some more pix a bit later with some extra info for you, I'd be amazed if they were genuine fuchs, but whatever they are they're pretty cool, or so I'm told.

Mine hasn't been touched for 5 years and I don't even know what state the running gear is in yet so should be interesting.

Snap on the wheels.
