Hopefully I can be corrected here.

Both are OK, although with Textar you are more likely to end up with a product that you would get from the dealers. Pagid seem to be a bit of a lottery in this respect. On some occasions I have had Pagids which are basically rebranded dealer pads (on my Pug 306 the Bosch stamp was still present as they were on my Mondeo (The Motorcraft pads are made by Bosch and oddly enough cost the same through ECP as they do via the dealers).

On other occasions you get the so called 'OE' stuff which is OK but maybe not quite the same as the dealer items (certainly on the Mundaneo most OE pads (via Bendix or Pagid) will not have quite as much meat (Genuine Ford pads can be a pain to fit due to this when compared to motor factor offerings) or surface area (i.e sweep the entire face of the disc) as the item from the dealers.

Hmmm, what I want to avoid is whatever it is I have fitted at the moment, despite chamfering the edges and frequent applications of copperslip the squeal comes back, worse still stops from high speed sometimes result in fading despite the pedal staying firm :( .

I have pagid discs and pads and went through all sort of squeal issues. Eventually bit the bullet and got the correct shims and the squeal faded to less and less and eventually gone completely! The shims are £20 each though and you need 4 per axle! I found all the squeal came from the front so currently have no shims in rear and correct shims in front and all is good. Stopping power I've never had an issue with, more so I now have a working abs pump which is just great in the wet!
