Well more out of curiosity than anything I'm taking my car down the rolling road on Saturday just to get some read outs and se how many ponys I'm missing from the original 163 I had.

Gave the engine a fair overhaul last year and its all well settled now so it'll be nice to see what a refreshed engine is producing and hopefully its a step towards reducing my over rich engine.

Ill report back once its been blown up!

What are the costs involved in a dyno run? I would be interested to know how many horses had escaped with 117k on the clock of my s2.

For this im paying the princely sum of forty of the queens finest. It'll give it a few runs to make sure the power is consistent and some print outs. 20 to 30 mins.

Dyno Days are great fun if you can get a few of you together

We organised a Dyno Day a few years ago, when I had an S2. All of the S2's faired really well on the day. There were a few surprises, especially from some of the modded T's.

The chap im going to is having a dyno day on sunday. In brigg northern lincs if anyone is interested. Im not there for the dyno day just a half hour run to see what power im at.

Does anyone know the parasitic losses of the porky drive train?

161.4Hp at the fly wheel. Im rather impressed

ta very much! I expect most of the credit is with them chaps in Stuttgart. But im feeling quite smug too!

So I met Ian in the puff about 1130 en route to the dyno, conveniently it's only 9miles away. A light hoon in a pair of 944s and we arrived. First question were presented with is "where can I strap it down" a few minutes of fettling and we work out that over the end of the torsion bars and across the width of the car is the way to go. Once were happy it's secure a few quests of expects results are exchanged. Any where from 125 to 158hp are banded around. Then we step outside while the rum happens. After it rolls off the ramp to reveal a small pool of oil which looked like it had come from the rear right of the engine. A little close to the exhaust for my liking so I best have a look. But otherwise the car is no worse for a good leg stretch.

Less than 2hp loss and over 10ftlb torque more than the standard spec.

top job, was a great morning for a quick scoot out too... I'm nosey now as to what the Puff is putting out...

It loses about 40hp in the drive train which seems a little high to me, can anyone confirm or deny the correct figures? As this will determine my next step, either find those lost horse or start finding a little more from the engine.
