Got my car in for a service and belts change.
Just had a call to advise that they have removed all the covers and the balancer belt has not been fitted

Seems a bit strange but everything has been working fine since I've owned it.

Any one heard of similar :?:

I know the race cars don't run one, not just 944 either, Lancia Integrales are the same. They apparently consume power, also at continuous high revs can whip & bounce off & generally take the cambelt off BANG  Never heard of it not being run on a road car though.

i've heard this too, the yanks take them of for their race cars as they only make the engine smoother in the lower rev range, sub 4k revs, the injun sure will run a lot smoother with them fitted
