My seats and carpet were really dirty and faded, really bringing the car down. so last week i stripped out the whole interior.
washed all the carpets in the bath and recoloured the seats. cleaned up the door cards and center console.
what a difference.
here are a few pics.
Tho the last pic has come up first?

No dirty shoes allowed in that car now! In fact, are shoes permitted at all?

Impressive! But... you washed the carpets in the bath? What did you wash them with?

I too have cream carpets in my newly acquired S2 and they need some attention in the cleaning department, so any advice is more than welcome!

Cheers,

Giles

I used ordinary carpet cleaner. i have a carpet cleaning machine and tried cleaning the carpets in place first, but i couldn't get good enough results.
The mrs was doing her nut when i started cleaning them in the bath, but it is the only way you can do it properly. i did buy a can of spray adhesive to re fix them.
I used a kit from The Scratch doctor to re colour the seats and to my suprise the results were excellent
And yes slippers only!

If Id seen this before you had started, then Id have suggested old school washing powder, are cleaning lady type scrubbing brush and a steam cleaner.

I have seen many sets of carpet steamed and they have always taken it in their stride. Linen in particular has always come up well.

Stuart,

I'm going to do almost exactly the same thing in a few weeks. Do you have any idea how long it took to take out the seats and carpet? Also, any gotchas or guidance on the job or is it a case of taking your time and being methodical? Any bits likely to get broken when taking it all apart?

Cheers,
Bryan
