I know Seaton well especially the Tramway!

Think carefully about what you are looking for, there is a buyers guide here written by some bloke :D
I looked at square dash cars & found the driving position wasn't great. Also the ventilation is better on oval dash cars, especially with a sunroof. If it is a daily driver, then in the summer you'll want the ventilation believe me.
Do NOT under estimate the rectification costs. Belts, engine mounts, Clutch & steering tend to be the first hits to the wallet on cars that need sorting.

Ah you do know Seaton what brought you to our sleepy little town?
Trouble is i prefer the styling of the square dash and i'm quite happy just to roll down the window.
Oh and i'm not completely useless with a spanner so would be happy to take on a few jobs my self and I've looked at pricing for most of the parts and they don't seem to bad.
The sad thing is i don't think i was ever that interested with owning a 944 until speaking with my uncle about them then viewing one now i have the bug and i don't think i'll be happy till i own one ha

thanks for your post,

Alex

Buying a cheap run around ? is that ment a 944 or another car? a 944 to get you on the road will have you spending money to keep u on the road, there get to apoint where your feel like you got so much money in the car your be relucnted to sell up and buy the right one.

Fair point, well i was thinking about picking up a cheap mx5 (i know of one going cheap £550) to get me back on the road till i find a 944 i like but got a week or two till i really need another car so i'm buying anything just yet (unless the right 944 comes along ha)

i'll see what happens although i think i've got my heart set on a black square dash however i like them in white a lot too and red for that matter or and blue, I'll be honest i like them all!

Thanks for the message.

Alex

I got a cheap gto twin turbo 6 speed manual import yesterday for £400 just to sell on as I thought it got to be worth at least 1 k got 10 miles off use out off it and water pump started leaking. It was never a keeper just a chance to make some money with a mate, we went halfs

If your getting cheap, get something that will sell to broader market. Hatch back ?

Unlucky chap, sorry to hear about that.
ah the mx5 would sell on easy any dealer would give £6-700 for it because its a 1.8 and its not an import.

but i'm not buying it just yet as i said i've got awhile till have have to buy anything.
What you doing with the GTO then? it can't be that much to fix can it?
i'm sure you two can still get a bit of cash out of it?

Exactly, the nimble handling won my heart... and seem more "special" somehow :)

Sell it on, 944 turbo needs a new turbo and 3" exhaust which isn't going see much change from £3k

Could fix it but no point as never off us Need it, he got an Evo iv got 944
Idea was to tax it and mot and sell on for £1500

Really clean car, just been left to sit for a year. Polished up well. Was in use all day b4 we took a punt on it.

I'm green with envy, its a beautiful car,
In what was my favorite colour until for some strange reason i fell head over hills for a black one witch sold a week before i rang the owner :(
Still would happily have a white one. oh and I never thought the brown interior would work, your 944 has proven me wrong.

how long you had it?
