Looking good Tony. Some good work there from Colin and yourself.

I see Mrs H is supervising in the last picture or is she just ensuring Colin doesn't wash any more parts in the kitchen sink?

Mrs H was quaffing white wine and declined to re-build the front suspension for us :drunken:

Holidays and two house moves have kept me busy, Colin meanwhile has been working like a trooper. Here are a few pictures from today

Thanks Alex.

We're hoping to have it ready for a track day at Oulton in November. Needs roll cage, geometry and a service with all fluids changed before then.

Can you tell me how much the RCR rear cage section was, please? Ive been recommending these to people for years, but I don't know what they charge for them since they updated their website two or three years ago and removed the prices.

Also: did you have it built without the lugs for the front section?

Hi Simon,

the cage was £252.72 (incl.VAT)....we collected it, I think delivery is about £50. Built without the lugs for front section

Thanks Tony. The price has gone up a fair bit, although I may be remembering the price for a 38mm tube hoop. Is yours 38mm or 45mm?

38mm hoop.

we're probably going to add a seat belt bar as we're not happy with the position of the present mounts. Then need to replace the glass side windows, put in a fire extinguisher system, new steering wheel and boss, and a few more little bits.

Can't wait to rag it on the track

Pity you guys are ooop north because I am in Club Triumph and they are having a track day at Goodwood on the 25th Nov and there are some places still available.
Open pit lane.
I shall be using my Quantum RSturbo and not the 944 though.

The work on your car looks superb and as my daughter has raced a 924 to some wins I reckon they make a lot of sense.
Brands in 58sec in a 130 bhp car is amazing but I saw her do it and so did several other 924's manage it.

Thanks for your comments Pink Piggy....the credit should go to my co-owner Colin Hammerton who is the mechanic in this project. I just pass the spanners and take pictures :)

Unfortunately the car will not be ready by the 25th, otherwise we might have considered a little excursion down south!

I hope I'm not putting 1+1 together and getting 3, but is your daughter Rebecca Jackson?

Have you considered welding eyelet mountings onto the leading edge of the load deck? Its a HANS compatible position too.

Did I suggest RCR to you (and mention the lug deletion)?

the load deck....now that's a thought. would certainly cut down on further expense, vis a vis installing harness bar. I'll discuss with Col.

RCR was Colin's idea
