Hello - just bought my first 924 and I need a good replacement brown dashboard - any chance someone has one without cracks?
:D That would be great. Please pm me - thanks!

Off topic but I have a single brown (passenger side) window switch if you ever need one. Bought in error. Actually that's not true, it was bought as black but arrived as brown!

Thanks Benjj. I'm putting the dash back together from tomorrow - I bought a 924 needing some interior TLC.

944man - if you have one let me know. I'll pay a fair price as I realise that they're scarce but I won't be held over a barrel by a seller with £ signs in their eyes. This is not the VW scene is it?

Its not the VW scene, but if you can find a good black one for sale you probably pay over £300 so if you can find a brown one I wish you all the best.

They do come about every now and then but id suggest you look at this thread

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=16472&start=15

recovering might be a cheaper option, unless your prepared to play the waiting game.

They command the mega bucsk because they hardly ever come up and it if they do, you'll be in a bidding war

Just to echo the above, the last square dash I had in genuinely mint condition sold for over £400, that was a good sale admittedly but as the values of exceptional early cars improve and good dashes get rarer the values will go up, if you get one cheap good on you but it will be lucky, don't go expecting people to let them go for nowt if they know what they are worth.

Depending how bad your cracks are then the vinyl repair kits can do a decent job of disguising the problem.

Over £400 was an incredible amount as 924 werk do them new for £460 (if RHD is same price as LHD). I will not be putting the car on the road to summer next year so I can bide my time but if it is the only thing stopping your car being first class then it is probably worth it.

To be honest I'd rather spend some time making an oval dash fit I think!

What!? The oval dash is horrible. The sq dash is so much nicer with its gauge pods, more of a classic and special feel

Horrible is a bit harsh, but certainly the square dash feels more retro... I'd go with "unremarkable" rather than horrible :-D
