So I was digging through some old photos, and found a bunch from two TIPEC meetings. One was at Abbotsford house, the other I'm not so sure on!

The yellow 924 and dark blue 944 were my Dad's.

link.

In the pictures with the yellow one, some of those 944s weren't very old at all..

Interesting just checked some of them. M5 POR is on a Citroen Xsara!, A897 MSH, A733 MSH, A733 YOM & B2 OPR are all around & taxed & insured.
Any more pics?

A733 YOM isn't still taxed and insured. Been off the road since 2001. Dad's still got her and she's in a right state. :( Bodywork however is fine, interior and engine (and most rubber parts) will be long gone.

That one isn't my dad's, sam. His is A733 YOM.

This next picture may disturb and sadden everyone:

Image

Engine scored a bore, interior rotten, has been sat since 2000. Car has since been moved to a drier, much more friendly environment... but it's not looking good.

Looking at the photos of A733 YOM still on the road and looking fantastic has made me want to restore her though. I'm thinking of going down there in my free time, tearing out the interior and engine and see if I can source a breaker that has a) running engine and b) interior.

The bodywork is in remarkably good condition, including the sills from what I could tell.

I know, I know... these cars aren't worth much, but there's the sentimental value. I helped him restore this in the late 90's and it really started my 944 kick, hence why I now own an S2.

Oh that is such a sad picture (especially from the owner of another A reg 944). She deserves to be restored, just because of the history if nothing else. Go on, you know you want to!

My 83 944 was also taken off the road in 2000 and stayed in a garage for 8 years before I started trying to get it back on the road. The difference is mine was a project back then so required a hell of a lot of work to get everything sorted (still not quite there but it is roadworthy).

If it was a good car before the engine problem then go for it but be prepared to replace a whole host of other things around the car.

For some inspiration here's my previously abandoned 944 sneaking onto a PCGB stand at Castle Hill show in the summer.
