This is not about DV but I used a very well known Porsche retailer (ie not an OPC) in the UK - ordered new brake pads for my S2 a while back. Stipulated the model etc but got Turbo pads instead. I e-mailed them back etc but they didn't offer the postage refund or even a discount on my 'next' purchase, which I suggested for their blunder. Zip response! I had to take the grinder to the pads to get them to fit. I have not and will not ever use them again... Sad service from such a big outfit...

For used parts I always recommend Porscheapart, remember dealing with them donkeys years ago when Simon was pretty much a one man band... Honesty is the thing, they would tell me "Yeah we have the gearbox you need, but its done 175k miles, but therefore it will only be £350 instead of £750, but its still garaunteed"... I appreciated that and always knew the deal with parts.

Only shame is, these days, they do not hunt and buy 944s like they once did, so they rarely have what we need on the 44 front, but we still use them when we need something else.

There are some bits they are expensive for, but only when they know that the part in question will sell for that, if you take it or not, which to be honest is comercial wisdom. So yes they will sell a single cup-1 alloy for say £250, they do know it will sell eventually for that price when someone wants one.. So, you can forgive them.

I have recommended Porschapart for years, and keep doing so to this day, even though I have no business relationship with them other than as a happy customer of theirs.

Yes, I remember Buttercup pre-VAT bust, when he traded out of his garage and still drove a lorry for TNT.

I have heard negatives about them. However the one time I dealt with them they were fine. The guy was decent enough on the phone. He couldn't guarantee the part worked but offered a 30 day refund. Part worked.

Hi Brett - Well I'm not rarely into naming 'n shaming but I will only say that it was a Porsche shop, somewhere in the England...
Back in the real world - I have used Design911 on quite a few occasions and in the States (once again) I have found Rennline and Paragon Parts both handy, each offering great service.
