What is the best for a 944 and it's nooks and crannies. I have some early rust in the sills that needs treating.

Also how do you get to the front end of the sill. Do you just have to run the pipe up the length of the sill from the access hole and then pull it slowly out while spraying?

Neither try Bilt Hamber, yes you an use a long lance to get to the front & there are access holes in the inner sills.

Are we talking hydrate 80? Also how much do you need to do both sills?

Actually dynax s50 looks the right product to use. How much would I need?

I'd give them a ring, they are very helpful, I've spoken to Peter Hamber in the past. I think for 2 cars I bought 5 Litres of Dynax 50.
I also bought an aerosol for the smaller bits.

I must admit that I used Waxoyl when I sealed up my sills during the 'S' renovation - but I had not heard of Bilt Hamber products. Just followed the link and had a look around, it seems like they do have some very good products - wish I had known!

Anyway, there's always the next project!

I use a lot of products by Bilt Hamber, but from experience the best cavity wax ive ever come across is the Dinitrol ML cavity wax

I use it in the 1 L containers and the compressor but this is just the same

I used one of the large aerosols (bilthamber s50) in each sill I asked for an extra lance a point of purchase and joined two together.

I pushed the lance through the vent in the door aperture right to the end of the sill, then withdrew the lance slowly whilst twisting the lance for max coverage.

I preheated the tins in warm water first.

Photo afterwards showed good coverage.

I use Dinitrol on my 944 and find it excellent to use.

I've Just put another application into the sills, arches and behind the arch liners at the front.

Spray in plenty and put cardboard below to collect the over run

Access in front of the front seats on the inner sill via the rubber bung to let you get to the front fynbos sills.

I'm doing mine shortly and have spent hours searching for the best method,

Using a rust converter first is a must, but the instructions for many of the products on the market state you must clean and de-grease the area first something that is quite hard to do inside the sill's

I've decided to use Fe123 first as it does not require degreasing I have tested this product on an area which was previously coated in waxoyl the Fe123 was able to penetrate the waxoyl and bond with the metal ....seriously impressive IMHO
I will inject this first, everyone seems to rate Bilthamber so I will try this for the protection coat.

all areas that can be reached I will use Rust buster epoxy chassis paint, I've used this to paint over the Dinitrol applied to my arches it creates a surface that is easy to clean unlike other underseals which remain sticky and always look grey

I used Dinitrol after I repaired my mx5. It seemed to flow out well, but would have been better if it came with a four way lance like the bilt hamber products do.

After reading this thread I think I will modify my plans. I've used waxoyl for years on various cars...but never kept them for long enough to really judge if it did the job.

This time its different as I am already 7years into ownership of my 944 with hopefully no change going forward. I think I will go for the bilt hamber as that seems to have good write ups. The car already has a coating of waxoyl, do I need to clean this off first?
