Back in the eighties I was invited along to a 'bit of a do' by Colchester Lancaster (the OPC at the time) as they were launching the 944 Turbo. They laid on quite a spread and had many cars on show. I thought you might be interested in the photos that I took all those years ago (remember all the cars were basically new - I wonder where they are now?):

Hi Neil, I did have - but they seem to have been mislaid (house moves, etc.) If they ever do turn up, I will post them. I seem to recall one photo showed not the car park, but the helicopter park! - How the rich live eh? 8)

^^^ Well spotted, I think that is. I have tried to expand the picture but it was scanned in from an old photo, so quality is poor, but that front end is pretty distinctive...

Wow thank you for posting these. I can only imagine how awesome these cars must have seemed then, to know how iconic they all are now.

My pet hate word of the moment. Every single car programme on TV over the last few months describe every car they talk about as 'iconic'. It appears everything is iconic just for being in existence. Just play this key word bingo next time you are watching car programmes :D

Haha, ok, memorable, significant, impressive, valuable. Each of the cars in these photos plays an important part in Porsche's rich history.
