Hello to everyone!!

I decided to join TIPEC this morning and eagerly awaiting my membership pack!

I am 8 months into being a Porsche owner and really really enjoying it so far!

Guess I should begin with a bit about my car history:
First car was a classic VW Polo that was older than me when I bought it! First cars have to be right?! with bits falling off and gaffer tape to hold the sun roof handle on. Then to a Rover 214- I Know...Rover...BUT, with a Honda engine in it which was a good thing and an unfortunate 'homage to the chavs' rear spoiler, which was a bad thing...that lasted all of a few months before I had a brief fling with a Ford Focus ST. After pressing all the buttons in the Fix Or Repair Daily and getting decidedly bored after a few weeks, I traded in for a Mazda MX5. The MX was a great little car and I must admit, if I could run two cars I would probably have kept it! Rear wheel drive coupled with that surprisingly nippy engine gave me several years of very fun and enjoyable driving until an oil pump problem meant I had to have an engine rebuild...After this, I couldn't help but think hmmm, what next.... Which brings me to my current car which is a 2003 Porsche Boxster. 2.7, black leather interior, multi-spoke alloys, midnight metallic blue and I am very much in love with this vehicle!!As I am female, I believe I am allowed to name my car without getting too much ribbing, so I would like to introduce Rex :)

Best purchase of my recent years not only for the drive and the styling but also for the fact it scared the life out of my mum, who has now come round to the idea and even considering getting one herself.

I do spend alot of my weekends driving about many different UK roads and am planning on getting over the waters to Europe for some car based adventures in the near future also!

So, if anyone wants to know any more about me or Rex, happy to chat and I hope to make it to a few meets to meet you all in person soon!
Alana

Thanks for the welcome all! I will gloss over the autocorrect issue  I get it all the time- two of my colleagues are called Alan so i am used to the general confusion! Clients are genuinely shocked to see a female turn up sometimes!
I will be at the Gaydon show as I am only 3 miles from Gaydon, so no excuse not to go really!
Pleased to be here!

Can you get some "Big Al" showplates? Your car have the glass rear window etc?

Hello and welcome, if you can't wait 'til Gaydon you could always pop over to The Bulls Head at Shenstone on Monday night for the Central region monthly meet, you'd be very welcome
