Totally off the wall but as there are several engineers and tinkerers on here I though I'd ask

I have a project that requires a large flat roof light to moved about 1.5metre to open and close in a straight line.
The overall size is 3.3metres by 2.5metres and weighs in at 800kilos.
Thinking that a push/pull pneumatic or hydraulic ram would work best but open to ideas.

Electric option is £7k and may not be strong enough.

Anyone know a good mechanical design engineer or have experience?
