bloody hell Paul
not a lot left of the front on the Toyota!

When I had the big off in the 997, it was left to me if I wanted to have it repaired or written off - it was a close call.
Chose to have it written off - hard to tell from pics, but looked like the 997 had more damage that the Pana.

Must be the time of year for it.
Someone kindly hit mine in Tesco carpark last weekend;

Cracked the front PU, scratches down to the plastic

Tesco have security cameras, but they don't record !

and of course no note left...
most of the damage polished out of mine, but still left a scar or twoo

Nightmare, some people are just without any morals or respect.

Apparently there is quite major hidden front end mechanical damage and also to the underside. New steering, suspension, engine parts, subframe, pyrotechnics on the bonnet, wheels, tyres and other panel damage down the sides. All mounts up.

Shell looks OK so the rest is fixable I guess but it depends where the insurer sets the cost limit.

Hey guv that's a real arse! Having just negotiated 3 drivers not indicating their intentions at roundabouts (all foreigners) and one mobile user in the last 5 miles I'm staggered we don't see much more of this kind o' thing. My missus always complains that I don't talk to her in the car - I won't go there, I need eyes everywhere - the tiniest distraction and .... well ........ . Another girl overtook me whilst I was sat behind a parked car the other day waiting for oncoming traffic to pass. She was on the bloody phone - didn't even notice me, the parked car and the oncoming traffic!!!!!

I reckon there's lots o' Porsche drivers like you out there saving the arses of complete dick heads.

Best wishes
Wazzer

Just heard the news! Glad to hear everybody involved is ok.

Paul, you must be gutted having only just bought the car. Not sure if it would be better to have the Panamera repaired or written off.

Given the damage to the Aygo I am surprised there is not more visible damage to the Pamamera. Which bit of the Pamamera hit the Aygo?
My rides: 02 Boxster S - perfect in many ways although mine has been likened to Trigger's Broom; 1988 911 3.2 Sport - so much feel and character, a challenge to drive well, a flawed diamond in many ways, but every journey is an occasion

Thanks again everyone.

All, I'm gutted yes the estimate is £25k to fix mine at the moment plus the cost of my loaned 7 series for a couple of months and her side so a big old claim building up.

The front offside corner hit the aygo but there's not a single panel on my car undamaged save the roof and boot.

There is extensive damage at the front and underneath with suspension and steering, engine parts, wheels and tyres it's a long list.

The car did it's job very well, impressive.

Paul
not quite as high as I'd imagined;

Friend had an off in his 997 GT2 @ Spa
(rear toe rod failed at 100mph +)
Damage didn't look huge, but the final bill was north of 60K - and it was repaired !
he sold it soon afterwards...

Repair authorised, I'm glad about that really and think it will be fine having seen what they are doing to it because I don't think I could get another one to that spec for the price I bought it for.

The 7 series is dull. A very nice car, comfortable but not anywhere like the Panamera in terms of quality or responses for simiar outlay.

Fingers crossed I should have the car back at the end of the month, new subframe, steering, suspension and the other mechanical bits are currently being assembled.

I'm popping up to have a look at the end of the week.

I took a trip out to Elite in Northampton this morning to have a chat with the guys who are working on my car and to have a general look. The place and the guys give me a good level of confidence and I'm pretty happy with things at the moment.

Repairs are getting underway now although a little slower than expected. Both wheels being replaced with new on the offside, all of the Alu suspension, subframe and componentry is being replaced due to risk of stress fractures along with the rads, intercoolers (in front of the wheels each side) etc.

The drivers door is being repaired, new rear door, new bumper and all fittings, paint bonnet and wings and then machine polish the whole car.

Spoke to the opposite insurer this morning and the allegation of speeding has been put to bed now which is good and they are taking 100% responsibility for the actions of the perpetrator of this mess!

Went and had another look at the car this morning, progress not lightning but the work looks of a high standard so far. Must say Elite are always welcoming of me turning up at random times without appointment and willing to spend the time talking about what they are doing and planning to do.

Car is mostly rebuilt mechanically now. Porsche sent the wrong subframe with the correct part number (!) and many discussions ensued with Germany, eventually the correct frame is now on the workshop floor ready for fitting.

Just the panels and paint after that so hoping the car will be ready end of next week or during the following week ready for the Corsica expedition!
