I had just over an hour of tachycardia at home, running toward 200bpm resting, I called an ambulance when I realised I could not get it back down within a reasonable limit, paramedic in a car came, said "well this is a hospital trip", cannula in one arm constant ecg monitoring. Ambulance to Dorchester, then several hours in the admissions bit whilst they decided wether to give me a drug " to momentarily stop your heart" so it starts again in a good rhythm  so stayed lain on a bed for a while hoping like buggery that the cold water would effect my vagus nerve and bring it (heart rate) down low enough for beta blockers to work which eventually it did. given beta blockers all good. then had to get a taxi home at 5am ! dressed in a pair of shorts, a superman t shirt and a pair of slippers with " im too sexy for my slippers" written on them. Also discovered on of my goolies had been hanging out of the hastily put on shorts whilst I had been lying in bed !!
Scared the living daylights out of me. (not the goolie thing the heart rate)
