Hi Alex,

Nothing wrong with being correct and anal - Porsh-uh - how it should be, unless I am at home in Essex, and then it's - Porrrshhh innit!

My long term German (quote ' I'm Bavarian!') girl friend calls my 924 a porsh and I wouldn't dare argue with her about that....

Capital of France: Paris, ...but the locals say Par-ee... Which is correct...?

I think it's OK to Anglicise foreign words.

I would definitely use the two-syllable pronounciation when referring to a member of that famous family, but as a make of car, it's 'Porsh' for me, I'm afraid...

Does it really matter how its pronounced, in Britain we have Shrewsbury/Shrowsbury or scone/scowne, Americans have tomato/tomeighto, I feel a song coming on "You say tomato, I say tomeighto, You say potato, I say potarto ...."
