The price has just been reduced by the manufacturer and Promax stock them at £1350. You really need to have your rear torsion bars re-indexed when you fit them or it will ride too high so budget about £2000 fully fitted at a Specialist.

It'd still need shocks though
And the best shocks in the world aren't going to compensate for the engine being in the wrong place

Hi Derrick

I'll let you have a go in mine when it's done. I'll be booking it in at ProMax as soon as they reopen after the bank holiday :D

I know several who have fitted them (Hilux for example) and it's on the cards for my car at some point when my piggy bank is full again. Yes they are very expensive but for me they are the best compromise for a stiff suspension that is very firm on a smooth track and also incredibly supple on our UK roads

Costs are what Paul said but add £600 for the W/M ARB`s

Might sound a lot but it brings these cars up to date unbelieveably well and I cant stress how much of a transformation it is and once tracked (if only to define the limits) will inspire fantastic confidence in the cars capabilitiies on road.

If you were to PROPERLY rebuild and prep an M030 sytem it is not that much cheaper and is still 20 years out of date.

Promax installed it and set it up properly for fast road/track and I havent changed it as the tyre types are the limiting factors and I will only go to slicks with a roll cage (soon)

To have a great suspension system is fine but it needs to have the wheels fully planted hence the WM ARB`s

The way I see it is that I can buy a new car and as soon as I`ve put number plates on it its cost me the same as the upgrade on ny 951 and the 951 will not drop in price. As more and more 951`s get ever more powerful they will start to attract attention as there isnt much out there that matches performance per pound.

Hi Derrick

I get my car back from the body shop next week as some tw*t suddenly stopped in the road and then reversed into it trying to park his car and said he couldnt see it.

Once back I need to book some track time so I`ll keep you posted but once driven you`ll be hooked (as I was) by a chap called Fen who let me have a drive of his car.

Top mounts are standard, I dont think I`ll notice movement but with the ARB`s I dont seem to get feathering or uneven tyre wear so the adjustable mounts I havent yet gone for. The settings are Promax and I havent changed them as it does have nicely balanced handling with only a tendency to oversteer when the tyres get hot but a guy called 951rs has posted Nurburgring settings also.

Yeah, Beni has some trick gear on his site  i reckon if we all sell a kidney each we could do a group buy and just have a whole load of fun !!!! back to reality who is Fen (had a quick search of members couldn't see him).....looks like you've done away with that little drop brkt for the ARB ( can't see the point of it in the first place, flimsy fabrication). are they std bushes or powerflex ?

Fen is a member on Titanic who ran a 944 Turbo with lots of BHP (until it went bang) & commensurate sums of money spent on it.
He lived in the west country & has now emigrated to NZ (only very jealous), he's quite well known in the Pork 944 Turbo community, which tends to be Titanic centric.

As for the bracket, Lindsay Racing do a bracing bracket for the ARB mount, but the whole thing is a pants piece of design to say the least!

I used to be into building/rebuilding Westfields and Ginettas and bought the 951 after nearly killing myself by rolling the G27 but I never got the same pleasure from it as admittedly they are quick but very very soft in my opinion and I was about to sell it when Fen offered me drive in his car.

I hope he wont mind me putting up the photo below but his car impressed me so much that I decided to keep mine and develop it along the same lines in the following order; Suspension, brakes, seats/harnesses, roll cage, tuning, and ultimately to run on slicks. Fen`s car also had no power steering so at parking speeds it was unbelievably heavy but once on the move the feedback from the front was unbelievably good, you knew exactly what the wheels were doing.
