Be very carefull

Post by rwboxster »

Hi all
Just a short tale of caution to all.
As seen in introductions my new (1998 Boxster) bought from what I thought was a good dealer (if there is such a thing).
I was told at the collection the central locking had an intermittant fault and to let him know if it got any worse.
Firstly I took her to Porsche Mid Sussex for a new key as it was supplied with only one (I know) cost £150 and a spare emergency £100 (informed that key would be cut to chassie No.).
First spare was no good door lock had been changed £100 down the pan, second central locking still not working, after full check found control unit U/S £492 then another £150 for another new key, I am now £940 out of pocket.
So please all Porsche buyers out there check all electrics before purchase and if there is a problem either run a mile or get a discount of a least £1000.(No reply from dealer as yet)
Roger
Still a great car 1998 Boxster 2.5
