Got the cab through its MOT today, no issues.
Set of four Conti Sport Contacts in the morning ..... Blackcircle.com ..... They will give you a discount if you ask .... The TIPEC code has expired.

Will clean it up over the weekend, and start getting ready for Laon.

No really, track day tomorrow. Drive it Day Sunday, a Classic annual event to get cars out of the garage. Brighton Incarnation Show on Madeira Drive a week on Sunday.

I am going to have to do some long evenings in the garage. :)

Funny you should mention that, I was going to email the reservation numbers to you all tonight. :)

Didn't on the way up, went direct north up the A34, past silverstone, miltonkeynes and then M1 and cross country to the hotel not far from the track.

Came back via the A1 after the trackday, stopped overnight just off the A1 in St Neots (my Birthtown) to educate my youngest son of where I was born and then back on the A1, M25, M3 today.

I think the 944T has done more miles in the last 48 hours than it has in the last 3 years!

Gave it a good "Italian tune up" on the track though, which to be honest was an eye opener, even with standard 86 turbo roll bars, shocks, wheels and road tyres, she still holds onto the corners faster than a dare most of the time, and even when she did break free a bit, she gave me plenty of warning and was easy to keep in shape.

Thoroughly impressed with the old girl.

Only thing is, Blyton Park being a small track more designed to find your handling limits than for speed, the track did find the limits of my brakes, no fade, but every 5 to 10 laps you could feel they needed a rest... M030 brakes would have been nice, but the smaller 220 brakes are part of the car's character.

Anyway, at last I have had some stuff to to post in this thread.

Also picked up a stone chip in the windscreen, a tiny one in the sweep.. Pants!!

Noticed a few bits to work on next, going to replace the vac hoses, as they have seen better days, a few tiny rust stains around the rear number plate lamps, which means they need attention before it gets worse, along with some chips... She did well though!

Changed my oil pressure sender today. Looks like my new one 4k miles ago was a dud! Now showing an almost instant 5 bar on start up, other gauge took about 4 seconds to reach 5 bar and really hot idle now a solid 4 bar. Gauge had been a bit nervous before, twitching a bit and sometimes I felt was reading lower than it should be not to mention only showing 3 bar sometimes at start up then a few miles later instantly flicking up to 5 bar.

Still a pig of a job to do on a turbo but done now I suppose.

Stuart

Bloody hell, my grand parents have lived in st neots most of their life and my mum grew up there. I remember many summers playing down near the ouse and fishing with my grandad.

On a different note today I started changing the door cars from the late style which someone has fitted for some reason to the correct early style. Other than the wiring connectors for the electric windows I think it looks a lot smarter

And yes i know they are different doors haha

Small world with St Neots, you are not the only one other than me on this forum with connections there, it is quite insane for such a small town.

I have been driving my white turbo every day since the TIPEC track day at Blyton Park... Needless to say it has had the biggest workout it has had in the last 3 years.. Now I have a list of jobs it needs once we have settled into the new workshop.. Including a new throttle position switch, throttle body rebuild, a tiny bit of attention to a couple of rust blisters next to one of the rear number plate lamps, a slight exhaust blow and numerous new tiny squeaks and rattles!
