Left my 924 at the bodyshop today after it went for its mot yesterday and failed on a rusty drivers side sill. (and a tail light which decided it didn't want to work during the test but did when I checked it at home after) Should have it back after the weekend for a retest maybe Friday.

Had a go at reattaching the tabs and other wires on my rear screen defroster. They are attached but now want a frozen screen to try it out!

How did you do it? Been trying to re-stick one of mine for ages and can't get anything to work. Solder didn't, then tried JB Weld metal epoxy but that didn't work either!

Fitted some of the parts salvaged from three cars in Bridges Breakers in Sussex last week.

Changed the Heater Motor rheostat so I now have a working blower plus replaced the blower air intake as the old one had been melted by the rheostat burning out. Fitted a new micro switch for the sunroof, replaced the passenger door window switch. Replaced both door sill covers (the ones that cover the edge of the carpets under the door)

As the weather has been good, I also took the opportunity to give the old girl a Pre-MOT once over. All looks pretty good apart from the handbrake which required stripping and cleaning the shoe adjustment mechanism. A couple of dirty hours later, the handbrake has never worked better :D

I ordered a kit from these people http://www.frostfighter.com/

It is from the states so takes about 2 weeks to get here. Very good stuff though, took me 2 attempts but attached now. Worth having. There is nothing in this country with decent enough reviews that compares.

I received the results of my V888 Request for information from the DVLA today.
A very useful pack of information which gives me some idea of the kind of life the car's had up to now and where it's been. I'm hoping to trace some more of it's history now if I can.

Fixed boot lock mechanism. One of the roads had popped out of its housings that pulls on the latch.

Removed the fuel tank sender unit and stripped down for inspection due to dodgy gauge readings... Found that one of the bobbin wires had got snagged on its guide clip.

Dropped car off at bodyshop for underside inspection of previous owners fibreglass repair to rear chassis member!!! Dependant on findings from bodyshop, going to have underside repaired to as new condition with donor parts from another 944, and fingers crossed a re-spray depending on underside repair costs... :bounce:

I checked to see if my 944 was on its original engine, and was pleased to see that the original engine is still in place, 28 years on.
The quality of these cars never ceases to amaze me!

Dug out my white turbo from its hibernation, its had a service and a bit of a shake down, just some odds and ends to sort out in the morning ready to drive up to Lincolnshire tomorrow evening, ready for the tipec trackday on Saturday.

Will be the beasts first track day with me, and my first track day in years... Some trepidation I must say!
