What do these do please?

Apologies in advance - but could someone explain to me what purpose these two plastic pegs serve please?

They are just holding the plastic trim on.

Just seems weird that the are slotted - and that the plastic trim behind is 'shaped'?

I wondered whether it had something to do with an optional luggage net (perhaps)

I think the slot is there so you can turn it through 90 degrees and then pull the plug out of the fixing and then release the trim if you want to remove it. They should then push home and you turn back to fix, that's if I recall correctly from doing it in my 996.

I use them to hold up full shopping bags. There are similar ones in the boot of my BMW.
