Thanks Brett, first thing is ...why is the 928 in comparison so cheap to buy? I guess your never going to be able to compete looks wise (the badge) also the "having a Ferrari in the garage"..but the Porks are surley better screwed together ...what has gone wrong for the 928 to be valued so low? It is a Porsche too?
I was reading this months car and classic and they have good hillman Imps at £5K!!! Its just not right!
Is it worth holding on to a good one for a few years?
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob

I did a LOT of work myself on my Ferrari because of the labour costs...I did that £2400 cambelt for example... and if you think a 928 is hard to work on...a Ferrari is MUCH worse...you are meant to take out the engine to do that belt

..I didnt as found a way round it... but everything is hard to get at and I seriously mean everything...

The 928 is MUCH better "screwed together" than a Ferrari.... at least as far as with a Ferrari, the designers expected ALL work to be done at a dealers... I think Porsche at least thought about some stuff being done by normal people...
Dont even get me started on my Ferraris alarm....if you think 928 alarm systems give trouble...multiply that by 1000 on a Ferrari one lol...
I bought my Mondial for 6k and sold it 5 years later for 12k....but it did need a lot of work doing when I bought it that the previous owner was NOT prepared to pay Ferrari to fix... (like the cam belt)
So if you buy one... make ABSOLUTELY SURE its been serviced up to date.... if not then start thinking 5k plus to get it serviced... and I NEVER EVER found a Paul Anderson type person for mine...lol , it was dealer or diy...which is what I did...
They are good cars though, so dont let me put you off as long as you have deep pockets.....
I still remember fondly that Ferrari howl as you pushed it around a roundabout as if it was on rails

And people ALWAYS look and instantly know its a Ferrari, particularly if its red...like mine was

All the best Brett
