Right I've just ordered a set of the new type of mounts Dibed now have listed on eBay, which are the 'flat' type which would normally raise the ride hight. But as I want fit stiffer (lowering) springs and retain stock ride hight they suit my needs better than the versions shown in this thread.

They're very similar to the Gaz mounts but are cheaper at circa £100 a set, so a good £40 cheaper than buying OE rubber mounts!

I'll be sure to report back. I've also taken a punt on a set of Design911 'DesignTek' lowering springs which I'm hoping are stiffer than my stock M474 springs which are soft as sh1t! Really I wanted a set of 200lb welt's but nowhere seems to stock them in the UK...

Ouch! I take it later 944 mounts were all superseded by the 968 items?

The bearing/rubber insert for the earlier mounts are £60-70 a side and there's bugger all to them! Really surprised no one makes aftermarket versions to be honest, you'd think Lemforder or Febi would make some...

Please report back on this. The under turret mounts tend to raise the ride height by some way. Even using lowered springs doesn't allow a big enough drop to compensate and still lift the car above a desired ride height. I saw the result on a US 924 and the guy had to bin the top mounts as he couldn't afford to buy coil overs

I went for my style even though I had coil overs to maximise the shock travel with lowered ride height. However, despite getting my desired ride height via the coil overs, Chris at Centre Gravity still raised my front end to increase my shock travel further.

Thanks for the info on this Steve, I found it quite difficult to research as there doesn't seem to be too much info on it... Fingers crossed the plan will work, but if not I'll be swapping the mounts for the taller units. We shall see!

I'm taking a big risk though as I'm off to the Ring on Mon 18th!..

Can't honestly recall 100%. I know for sure the rear are 250lbs. I believe the fronts are 450lbs

This depends.

Some of the Lemforder stuff I have bought for other cars has not really been up to scratch with the specialists in question almost laughing in my face upon mentioning them (the specialist in question preferred either genuine or TRW items for that application if Poly could not be used with longevity etc. (the Lemforder items I fitted were heading towards MOT advisory territory after a year of use).

It is a tricky one for sure. As you say however, other marques of car have had durable bushes made but with a trade off albeit almost insignificant at times
