Every cloud has a Silver lining and Stone the crows are both phrases I've used to day! The OPC has had the car 3 weeks following the bodyshop having it for a few days to check over their work which was all OK.
Car went into bodyshop 12 December, they kindly took it to OPC on 17th. Despite being told what was wrong with it by both the bodyshop and myself (and it being obvious upon turning the key) I was told on the 19th that I'd have to visit to show them. In addition, they had to check to make sure this wasn't a 'characteristic' of the £70-120k car Porsche had produced. Unfortunately I could only get there on the 23rd. The technician asked me to drive the car to demonstrate, we started it and it was immediately obvious to him, only drove it just out of the dealership before returning for him to investigate further.
Today (as per a lot of other days) I rang three times leaving messages, the last of which I was on hold for 20 mins, no-one returns calls. Finally I get a call back at 4pm but still being fobbed off even though I'm dealing with the service manager now, he was delighted to tell me they have racked up 14 hours on the car with two operatives including working on it all day today changing the steering rack! The rack change made no difference incidentally!
This period from the 23rd when I last visited includes 10 workshop days, on top of the 5 working days prior they were pontificating over it.
Anyway, they were explained to about my holiday on Friday on the 23rd when I visited but today there is no prospect of receiving the car back in time because they don't know what's wrong with it and it's in many pieces now!
No loan car has been offered and they denied to supply me one today saying that they have a 3 week advance booking on them. Should the warranty have provided me with one?
What the hell do I do now?
