Ok, I give up!!! What's the secret to posting photos? I've tried to follow the instructions on Board help, but I cannot even find "click on uploads at top of screen", where is this? I've reduced the picture size down to a speck of sand and tried to upload as you would normally. Unfortunately, it still will not accept my upload. The error I get is, "The extension bmp is not allowed". How do I change the extension to an acceptable one?
I know I have a clockwork computer with an idiot at the keyboard, but come on!
I was also thinking of trying to add an Avatar, one thing at a time I think?

Dave - I just did this one to make sure it worked.
What you do is click on select image box ie Img
Then go to the site where your images are hosted (in my case pBase)
Open the image, right button click to get properties, then copy the entire URL and paste onto the message (so it goes between
Then that should work ok.
And you do need to use JPG photos and at about 800 pixels on the long side max - which is what this one is.
BMP images are too large, so just convert to JPG in a photo editor programme.

Sorry, those instructions are probably for the old version of the forum software and therefore out of date. You now add attachments from the "Upload attachment" section of the post screen.
I think your problem is that "bmp" images are not allowed as they are not a compressed format and therefore wasteful of storage space on the site. You need to convert them to "jpeg" format first.

You need image editor software, then usually you'd select "save as" and select "jpg" or "jpeg" as the file type. What operating system are you using? Do you have any image editor software?
