Hi All,
I am rebuilding a Porsche 928 and have just had the eninge bay resprayed and want to clean the wiring loom so it looks like new, also there are parts of the braking system, the bar for lifting the lights & the anti roll bar and other parts that need to be painted black any idea's on best paint & finish [ satin, gloss ect] to use ?

I remember at Gaydon a red & gold 924 or 944 that had an engine bay that was perfect but don't no the name of the owners and if they know who they are maybe they could give me some advise as this is the standard I am trying to achive.

Thanks
Malcolm Thompson

Malcolm, this is the way I do small items like this. Strip, clean & degrease. Use an aerosol primer & apply light coats then allow to dry overnight. Then wet & dry with 600 lightly & then use whatever black you fancy, matt is a pain as it shows fingerprints badly, so very often satin it is. Warm the cans in hottish water & use a fan heater on the item to be painted before doing any of this.
A finish like the below is possible!
