To new member Neil McGovern from Carlton on his first visit to the Bell

Since the last meeting:

Dean and Dave attended the Piston Heads Show at the NEC in Birmingham, really recommend it for next year saying they much preferred it to the MPH we attended earlier. Dean made 2 visits to the show as he won a competition to partner professional racing drivers in a Karting race along with a night in a 4 star hotel for him and Joanne, unfortunately due to a “heavy night” his pro’s, F3’s Sam Bird and BTTC’s Tom Onslow-Cole were a little off colour on the day, qualified badly but made up places in the race

Discussed what events the region intended to attend to try and put together a provisional 2008 calendar

Feb 9th Karting at Avago Karting Swinton, arriving 2.30pm to suit up and start racing at 3pm followed
by a meal at Akbar’s Indian restaurant from @ 6pm

May 5th Thoresby Classic car show, Show passes in advance only, April 25th deadline.
May 9th Woty, Cotswolds, Prescott Hill Climb. Several elements to this one, Saturday, 50 mile
organised run through the Cotswolds, meal Sat evening, choice of lounging in the
orchard or paddock and having a go at the hill, limited numbers first come first
served. C & K B are researching the hotel. Book now!
