944 blower problem

Hi, my early 944 heater always blows hot. i've had the front off. the slider goes onto cold but still blows hot, any advice would be appreciated, Gaz.

The clip has broken on the cable, look behind the dash to the left of the centre console & you'll see the broken clip.

IIRC mine broke free at the engine end,
