944 G669KRH

Post by MrFlo »

Hi Everyone!
I’ve just signed up to the forum, as I am looking into getting a 944. Been after one for a while.

Specifically want an S2 and I came across this car:

https://themodernclassiccarco.com/sales ... spage.html

I believe it was owned by a member here previously- there’s a photo of it on the home page!

Can anyone give me any information on it?

It looks in good condition, but there is very little paperwork, no service book and the last MOT had a lot of advisories.

Any information as to why the owner moved it on, and what sort of car it was like would be massively appreciated!

Cheers!

That looks pretty good I must admit. Lack of history concerns me a little. The two gotcha's with an S2 that they don't mention & with no history no way of finding out are the camchain/tensioners which isn't part of the service schedule but needs doing around 100,000ish & a clutch.
They say it has no history but has had belts done. SO it must have some? The bonnet is misaligned which would normally make me suspicious but the front PU bumper looks OK so it just maybe hamfisted reassembly?

Not sure if my 944 buying guide is still on the forum here but if it is it will be worth a read. If you are new to 944s I'd suggest getting it checked over by someone in the know but at that price I suspect it won't hang around.

Given the location in Jockland I did wonder if it was Buchanan Cars or whatever they're called this week.

In which case buyer beware!

Can I assume this dealer is one that has not been so honest in the past?
