After my last MOT on my 993 (when I usually reset the trip), I noticed that the trip and mileometer in the speedo are not advancing. Everything else is working perfectly, and I suspect that a small gear inside the unit has failed. On any other car I’d happily pull the unit apart and try to sort it out myself, but the thought that I may end up damaging it, and the not inconsiderable price of a replacement speedo, means that I’d like to send it to a specialist to make the repair. Does anyone have any recommendations of who I could approach please?
Also, does the speedo just pry out of the dash, or are there any brackets that hold it in place?
