I know you've said you want a manual, but have you tried one with PDK? I was also convinced I wanted a manual, but gave PDK a try, so that I could widen the field. I liked it, so bought one. It's not like an old-school slush box and you get full manual control from either the gear lever or the paddles, just no clutch pedal.
