I missed out last year. Are there any plans for a 2017 club track day?

Hi Glenn, i'm sure we will organise something similar to last years as well but I did post details of a Porsche track day for us to attend a few weeks back

I know that quite a few have already booked on

Yes, I saw that. It's about £40-50 over-priced for what I'd expect to pay for a weekday track day in March at Oulton Park.

I am looking at something over the weekend of 17/18th June. Just trying to flesh out details to see if it would work for club members.

The March RS trackday at Oulton is regularly supported, from a spectating point of view, by N.W. and Cheshire/Staffs regions.
I believe there may be TIPEC members' cars on track in 2017
I have never taken part in the day as the machinery present is extremely high powered stuff and I would forever be looking in the mirrors of my relatively slow 944 for fear of holding people up

It's a track-day, but also a bit of an institution for some in the UK Porsches 'scene'. There are many owners who are more than happy to pay the premium to be booked-on and barely do more than a few laps. There are, however, several hard-core drivers there every year who really know their way around Oulton and are happy to push some expensive machinery pretty hard.

Nice one Paul. It would be useful to get a date confirmed asap. I'd want to avoid a national track-day event clashing with a North West regional event.

Not sure it would be a good idea to have a club track-day during the 24 hour race. I for one wouldn't be able to keep up with the 919's on the longer straights at La Sarthe.
We might need to find an alternative venue. Channel crossing pushes the price up too.

Is it happening?

There was a suggestion of something around 17/18 June which I'm led to believe is the weekend of the Le Mans 24hr race. It's also the weekend that the North West region is planning a fairly 'big-deal' regional run so there's unlikely to be much participation from our region.

Afternoon Folks
After much deliberation and consideration of alternatives we have decided to stick with Blyton as a track day venue for all the safety reasons we have discussed in the past. The big difference is that this year a "Club Weekend" has been arranged giving us the opportunity to have two days at the circuit with overnight camping possible for those that want it. Personally I will stay at a local B&B but camping will help keep costs down if you're on a budget. The organisers are planning some evening entertainment as well as club "Head to head" challenges to add to the fun.
Over the two days, three different circuit configurations will be used to give drivers the chance to maximise their experience and enjoy multiple challenges.
With a cost of only £149 for one day or £259 for a full two days driving it is the cheapest option out there
For simplicity I have left it that our members will book direct and you can do this via the link below:

Look forward to seeing you there!

Wazzer - Be good to see you there Pal

Paul
PS I'm booked for the two days
