Maraschino Red 944 Turbo for sale

Hello,

Finally I need to sell my 944 Turbo. Is there anyone that might be interested?

It has been written off in 2011 and classed as Category 'C'. I have with my family repaired the write off in 2012. It is now ready for an MOT but there are still some things that need attention. These are:

Drivers side seat switch needs repairing, electrics all OK though
Hockey Sticks on Boot lid missing
Tracking needs doing
Vibration from exhaust, not sure exactly what it is but I don't believe it is serious
Paint work is rough but ready and all painted
There is a short circuit somewhere as the battery drains if left connected (might be a battery problem I'm not sure)
Passenger side door mirror does not move electronically
Passenger side door does not open or lock with the key but central locking works
There may be a small coolant leak from the Turbo coolant pump or directly from the expansion chamber (not a big deal)
No MOT as it is still registered as a write off but it should pass no problems, I can get it MOT'd if necessary.
Air con does not work, I believe it is still on the old gas

Good points:
Starts on the button, engine sounds good
Drives well, power is all there and suspension good
The microchip has been upgraded to 250bhp
Lovely interior, no rips. Cream leather, very clean
Dash board perfect, no cracks
Sun roof works lovely
Head skimmed and new head gasket in 2011
New Belts replaced in 2011 (hardly any use since then)
New Radiator in 2011
replaced Oil Pressure relief valve (as old one faulty)
replaced Turbo Down pipe as old one cracked
2 brand new Bridgestone front tyres
No Rust Issues at all
It also has a promax boost controller
and it comes with some spares, including a Turbo and outlet downpipe.
123,000 miles
Just had an engine oil change

I really don't want to sell this car but I have no choice now.

I am looking for £8,000. This is less than half the price of a good condition Turbo currently on the market.

I think you will be lucky to get any takers at £10k
Just a few points :-
Will certainly need an MOT and tracking with proof it is ok!
Why was it written off ? ie what damage was sustained and how as that been rectified (with proof it has been satisfactorily rectified) a family repair does not sound too professional to be honest.
The little use on the belts is immaterial, if they were done in 2011 they should have been replaced in 2015 (4 years MAX!), Water Pump ? how old, Brake fluid 2 years ? sorry to be on the downer but the things you list as need doing eg short circuit and vibration problems really ought to be sorted 1st before offering it for sale if you hope to get anywhere near £10k.
Apologies for the negative comments Katherine but its just an honest opinion (as one who has bought owned & sold a couple of 944's with one still to sell sometime)

I agree with the post above...

IF you fixed those things needing attention, plus an MOT and particularly the Turbo/coolant leak then yes you might get 10k....

If you dont, I personally think you would be lucky to get 5k....maybe....

I understand your opinions but at the time when I was looking for a 944, I saw some really horrible examples. At least here you get the full run down.

Update: MOT done last month, it needed a new windscreen washer pump and the handbrake adjusting.

I think I'm planning on driving it around for a bit.
