Considering changing my teledials to D90's. The teles are 7J front and rear but the D90's are 7 front and 8 rear. Will they be a straight swap or am I going to need spacers?
(I remember my owners handbook lists both 15 and 16in rims for the 944S but havent got it to hand to check the widths)

Yup will be a straight swap onto a 87 car. Make sure the hub faces & nut threads have a smear of copa-slip on. Standard tyres are 205/55x 16 front & 225/50x 16 rear. Start with tyre pressures at around 32psi all round & see how it feels.

i think 16s were an option on '86 on cars, my handbook shows this, 7 and 8s are the correct size for the S2 so should be fine, mine had 6 and 8 D90s when i got it and they were fine (apart from the nankangs !!), now got 6 and 8 16 inch cup 1s from a 968 and they're fine too

The 6" rims will have come off a 911. The 944/968 has only had 7" and wider rims fitted, even the original cars that came on 185 section tyres had 7" ATS 'cookie cutters'.
