1990 Porsche 944 convertible

Post by mr2haz »

I am not sure I want to sell up but I have too many hobbies and not enough time to enjoy the car.

This is my 1990 Porsche which I have owned for four years. It has 7 previous, the last owned it 10 years of which it was sorned the last two and a half.

The mileage is currently at 137,000, in my ownership it has covered less than 4,000 miles.

I have the owners manuals, some service history and every MOT since 2000, the current is valid to April 2016.

Earlier this year the fuel lines under the car were replaced with new genuine Porsche lines along with replacing corroded parts of the brake pipes near the rear axle.

In 2013 it had the sills and lower corners of the front wings professional restored, cutting out the rot and fabricating new panels were required then painting along the sills to a standard finish. At the same time Autoglass fitted a new windscreen.

The D90 wheels have no kerbs marks just some light corrosion and are fitted with branded tyres that have plenty of tread.

A Dansk back box is fitted to the car and I also have a standard back box.

During my ownership all servicing has been done by my dad who is a retired mechanic.

The hood has no tears and operates on the button like it should. The tonneau cover is present with its bag.

The digital clock works.

The car has fitted a Sony radio cassette player with 10 disc change mounted in the boot along with uprated speakers.

Security wise there is a Cobra alarm and immobiliser with fitting certificate should your insurance company require proof.

Two keys with two alarm fobs.

The car is HPI clear.

Bad points

Belts are due a change, belts included,

Front passenger corner has had some paint,

Driver side window drops half an inch before continuing down as normal, it goes up like normal,

Passenger side window can be temperamental at times,

Some minor spots of surface rust,

Water temperature gauge gives false reading (there is a guide on here for fixing it),

The clutch pedal needs bleeding following recently changing the clutch cylinder (will do this if I get the chance)

At that price, I'd be thinking "what's wrong with it?" There's nothing in the advert that would stop me paying another £1,500 if I were looking for one, assuming everything's as described - especially at this time of year.

Just my 2 penneth.

Thanks for the comments, I priced it on the basis of the completed listings on ebay.

I agree
It looks a better car than what you're asking.

Nice car, good luck

Again, I think the price is a fair one, it should sell. Don't forget there is work that needs doing to the car, belts etc. I wouldn't move on the price but good to see a realistic price being asked.

Good luck.

This could be a good car for me. Looking for something pretty quickly for a euro road trip.

Can you drop me a PM if it's still for sale? Would be good to chat.

Obviously with these things I'm bloody miles away in the Yorkshire Dales so can't nip over for a quick look easily!
