Hello All,
Just signed up here after being pointed this way on twitter by Ben Williams.
After faffing about with a Lotus Elise, and M5 and now a Supercharged Jag I have decided I need to buy the car I've always wanted.... a 944 S2.
My budget is around £6-7k. I'd like the best one I can afford, it will initially be a daily, and I'd like to take it to Europe and maybe do a track day in it. Mainly though for a good B-Road blast.
In the past I've always bought my cars from forum members and would be keen to do the same again with the 944, I'll consider the usual places though too of course.
Personal preference would be a Red or White one.
Is anyone considering selling or know of any good ones out there for sale?
The two Red ones on eBay have got buyers lined up, like the look of this white one, but it's been for sale for a good while and the comment about the original sills is a concern... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-PORSCHE- ... 339fce8bd8
Any general advice is welcome.
Thanks
Tom

Don't know if you're still looking, but we are thinking of possibly selling our S2.
It's Baltic Blue, pre Cat., 81k which MoT record suggests is genuine.
Mechanically and structurally the car is good with recent belt changes, water pump, PAS rack and pump and history shows fairly new clutch as well as sill repairs.
Trim finish is its weakness, but has the deep bolster sports seats.
Weekly driver, done some long trips too and impressed with its country road ride.
Looking for a price comfortably within your budget.
Let me know if you want more info, I'll send you my number and get the service folder out.
We've scratched the itch and now looking for the next play car. Would be interested to hear your M5 experiences if it was an E34.

Re: Wanted: 944 S2 for Newbie.
The original sills puts you off, mine is on it's original sills and they are solid as a rock! The original solid bodywork is one of the main things I look for in most cars I buy. I think one of the reasons is that it went to Spain for a couple of years with it's owner in recent years, however, I think that in itself will put some people off.
