DETAILING WHEN ITS RAINING A WASTE?

Hi guys,

detailing/cleaning newbie here. I have my car booked in for a winter detail this week, but the weather seems to be absolutely horrendous. I was just wondering what peoples opinions were; if it would be a total waste of money to have the car detailed to then go and straight away drive it through a rain storm, or, at this time of year would not doing it when its torrential rain just be postponing the inevitable when the rain begins.

cheers.

It depends what you are having done?

I tend to detail properly in the spring so it's ready for the season and top up as required through the summer.

Is your car a daily driver?

As Sean says, it depends what you want.
I would probably wait until spring for paint correction, removing swirl marks etc.
For now, a thorough clean including clay bar, followed by decent coating of wax and products for the trim, will help protect it from the nasty weather.

Cheers for the replies guys.

Yeah its a daily driver, and its an over all polish and wax job, no paint correction. The car is in a pretty unhealthy state at the minute because the neighbours 2 doors down a few weeks ago were having some stone work done, covering not only the car but the whole house in an inch thick layer of crap. I was too scared to clean the car myself for fear of leaving scratches all up and down it so I thought it would be best to have it professionally done. The detailer gave me 15% discount in exchange for a review on here. So I will be putting that up once the job is done tomorrow.
